The Grill Jichana

The Grill Jichana, located at Southern Sun Rosebank, boasts robust flavours of the African East Coast spice route complementing succulent cuts of meat, chicken and fish creating the essence of ‘eating good’ or Jichana in Swahili slang. The perfect venue for lunch, dinner or afternoon drinks soaking up the Rosebank view from the terrace.

Dishes are created with flair, flavoured with fragrant cassia, cardamom, turmeric and other heady spices and prepared using the freshest ingredients.



Always premium cuts that are matured in our butchers special aging process. Seasoned with aromatic house spice, infused with lemon black pepper, rock sea salt and crushed mustard seed, flame grilled then basted with herbed honey BBQ. Premium meat given the attention it deserves. Cuts include Rump, Fillet, T-Bone. Lamb and chicken is free-range and served in a variety of mouth-watering presentations and flavourful options. And when it comes to linefish, it’s fresh and SASSI listed as well as tender Norwegian Salmon and LM prawns.


All mains are served with a choice of sides. From Homemade Bafana Potato Chips or creamy potato mash to battered onion rings, or fresh steamed market vegetables.


If you still have space (or wisely have left a little room) the dessert menu includes the famous 5 Chocolate Valrhona Chocolate Ball, Baked Lemon Tart, White Chocolate Lemon Curd Lava Cake and Cardamom and Rose Water Panna Cotta.


A choice of Madagascan Pepper Demi-Glaze, Truffle Scented Mushroom and the famous 20 Ingredient Café de Paris butter.
